ONE WEEK LEFT: 2020 EMG Native Plant Sale

Douglas County Extension Master Gardeners are pleased to announce that our annual Native Plant Sale will go on… not quite as usual, but in an innovative, easy, and physically-distant format.

We have been working tirelessly with our plant supplier and each other to develop online sales and curbside pick-up for our specially designed Native Bloom Boxes, and we are now happy to share them with you.

ONLINE ORDERS: Monday, May 18th — Wednesday, June 3rd

CURBSIDE PICKUP: Saturday, June 6th and Sunday, June 7th

This year, due to the pandemic, we are offering ONLY pre-set Native Bloom Boxes for sale; you will NOT be able to come in person to the sale to pick out individual plants. We are striving to abide by the physical distancing recommendations outlined by the CDC and the Douglas County Health Department. Extension has canceled all in-person activities through July 4th, but will allow contactless, curbside pickup for this sale.

No substitutions will be made except in the case of plant unavailability from the grower (see note, below). If you want different plants or mixed boxes, we suggest you find another gardener to go in with you on a couple of different boxes so you can get all the plants that you want. Trading native plants is fun!

The Native Bloom Boxes will be available for curbside pickup at pre-determined times on Saturday, June 6th and Sunday, June 7th. You’ll receive directions and the hours of your pickup window when you check out from our sales site (the “order now” buttons, below).

This year’s Native Bloom Boxes group our plants into different categories based on location, purpose, species, or color, and are offered at our 3 plants for $10 price.

Boxes with 6 plant species listed will contain 18 plants total and cost $6o; boxes with 3 plant species listed will contain 9 plants total and cost $30. Tax is included.

There are two “hard to find” species listed at the end of this page as well, which sell in groups of 3 plants for $10 rather than in larger bloom boxes.

Scroll down to see all the Native Bloom Box choices. Click on the name of a plant to be taken to an informational page about each one. The “order now” buttons open up our sales website in a different tab. Once there, you may order as many boxes as you wish.

Checkout is online via PayPal only. PayPal allows you to use a credit or debit card if you do not have a PayPal account.

NOTE: Due to uncontrollable growing and weather circumstances, it’s possible that a few of these plants just won’t be available at the time of our sale. This list is up-to-date as of early May and we will talk with our growers again a week before the sale to see if anything didn’t grow well. In such a case, we will do our best to substitute a plant that is similar or grows in similar conditions to the unavailable plant.

We are excited to share these amazing plant groupings with you, and we look forward to seeing photos of your native plantings in the years to come.
