Garden Inspiration Weekend – June 3-4

Garden Tours, Native Plant Sale and Garden Art Sale!

Douglas County Extension Master Gardeners invite you to a Garden Inspiration Weekend, June 3-4, beginning at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper Street, in Lawrence. Proceeds from the all of these events support the Douglas County Extension Master Gardeners activities and the programs we offer to the public.

Garden Tour – Saturday, June 3, from 10-5 and on Sunday, June 4, from 11-5

Our biannual Garden Tour is always a hit with anyone who loves to garden, and will provide inspiration for your garden. Your Garden Tour ticket will provide entry to six beautiful private gardens. Tickets are $15. They can be purchased online, at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, or at any of the gardens on the tour. Anyone 10 and over will need to purchase a ticket. Native Plant Sale – Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., or until the plants are gone

The Native Plant Sale will be held in the open Pavilion at the Douglas County Fairgrounds at 2120 Harper Street in Lawrence, Kansas. The plants are all grown locally without pesticides, and are all native to Kansas. We will be selling 29 new varieties of plants that we have never carried before. You will be able to preorder bloom boxes containing 15 plants, or purchase individual plants on the day of the sale. See the Native Plant Sale plant list and review the Bloom Box details. After you select your Bloom Boxes, you can order them online from the Bloom Box page.

Our bloom boxes have been extremely popular, and most are sold out. All of the plants in the Bloom Boxes will be available for individual purchase during the Native Plant Sale. 

Garden Art Sale – Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., or until the art has been sold

Our members are working away creating items to add beauty to your garden. This sale will also be held in the open Pavilion at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Lawrence. More Garden Art details.

While you are at the Fairgrounds for these events, stop by and see our demonstration garden. It will provide you with great ideas for all types of gardening–full sun, shade, attracting pollinators, rain garden, veggie garden and more!
